About me

In 1982, I started my career as a young graduate psychologist in a counselling centre for marriage, family and life issues. I passed the traineeship as a psychoanalyst for adults at the Sigmund Freud Institute in Frankfurt and further as a therapist for couples and families. For over thirty years, I had my own practice as a psychological psychotherapist in Frankfurt/M.

At the age of 63, I set out on a free voyage.

Claudia Ute Marquardt

I stopped my regular practice and from then on became what you might call a "wandering psychologist".

During this time, I accompanied young adults who were doing their voluntary social year in Greece, giving seminars and providing supervision. In refugee camps I worked with young people and families who suffered trauma escaping from their home countries.

The exchanges with children, adolescents, and young adults about their current conflicts and thoughts, their attitudes to the meaning of life, their visions, wishes, and plans became part of my own inner journey in a new phase of life. Very many conversations with worried, often helpless parents about the situations of their children and families spoke to something in me that felt like an inner calling.

I became aware in a new way of what I had known from my earlier professional life: my direct access to the inner world of a child.

It became clear to me that I can easily and quickly recognize what I call the ‘soul path’ of a child, and that I can be helpful in the role of translator-guide for parents.

This is how my advisor role "came" to me – as a goal on my personal soul path.  Since it is connected to the blessing, it is in its turn linked to joy.

From this inner attitude, I warmly invite you to work with me.
